Welcome to the blog that I named Ten Ounce Cup after my 4lb chihuahua, Pepper. That is her picture, smelling the flowers that I placed before her in a 10 ounce juice cup. She was small but mighty and taught me so much about setting your mind on positive things. You can overcome any perceived disadvantage, if you just set your mind to focus on the positive. I hope that you enjoy this blog. It is a random assortment of topics with a positive focus. Some posts include videos. You learn so much about yourself when you write a blog or create videos for public or private viewing. I hope that you take away something of value. I have let this sit for more than a year and now it is time for me to revisit this idea of putting pen to paper or of putting finger tips to the keyboard… I think the phrase “pen to paper” is much more romantic, don’t you?

The Dome House
I actually spend a LOT of time in Al and Mickey Quinlan's house. Maria and I were bookend friends for many years. We had a practice of sharing tea, on most days, at 4:00. Many conversation ensured, but one or two stuck out in my mind. The story of the Dome Home is one of them.

It’s funny how a simple little writing prompt can start a flood of ideas. Today, I pondered the answer to the prompt “ My favorite childhood toy was…” and wrote down this post. Last night, Craig said that when we get older we take time to appreciate and think about the details. That is so true!
Music drives the piece
I love to listen to music while I am creating my artwork and usually cycle through many different genres in an afternoon. I find that although music can be very inspirational while working, it can also be a distraction. Ultimately those distractions can change the direction of the piece!
